It's very simple.

I use a support ticket system courtesy of osTicket to track time spent on existing projects I'm developing as well as support I provide to others.

As most of my friends no longer have PC's or Laptops, it doesn't get used that much but is still provided as a legacy of support services I have previously provided.

Every support request is assigned a unique ticket number that you can use to track the progress and responses online.
